Artistic Residency - Digital Art
From the 15th of May to the 3rd of june, 8 selected artists shared with the public the evolution of their digital art projects, that were then exhibited in the Videowall and Picolla Galleria. It was a collective and collaborative production that was created from different connections.
Connections on the digital/material, between culture, design and heritage, between technology and people. Using as a start point Portinari's “Civilização Mineira” (1959) panel, from where the colours, lines and inspirations to Belo Horizonte's urban scene came to live in an interface between materiality and virtuality. A project thought, from the very beginning, through collaboration. Pablo Gobira, professor of post-grad in Fine Arts on Escola Guignard (UEMG), is a benchmark researcher in digital arts, and was the residency curator, bringing an academic and contemporary art point of view as an inspiration font to amplify and deepen the artistic experiences.
