Preservation and art memory in front of volatilityThis study aims to discuss and establish concepts on which we can categorize digital artwork. Thus, we aim to understand whether the digital works can be grouped as stable and which could be considered unstable, demonstrating the difficulties regarding the preservation of digital collections.

Curatorship seen in relation to digital technology: exhibition design as an arcadeThe main objective of this project is to study the space for exhibition design facing the presence of digital technology. As consequence of that, we intend: to discover new ways of thinking about exhibition design in contemporary context; to research the changes in this new configuration of the pace; to think about curatorship and its role in the context of exhibition design in the presence of digital technology; to think about the relationship between art, technology and science; to approach the playful nature of interactive digital installations.

Extension Institutional Program: Rights to Production and Access to Art and CultureA dialogue with culture policies of the state and federation in order to establish a critical participation of the University. Mapping the production of art and culture inside the university and strengthening these productions well as enabling interaction with different cultural productions. Identification of the University's potential for extension projects aimed at expanding the right to production and access to art and culture of lower classes. Living Room: A curatorial room for access to art and culture in Guignard School of ArtLiving Room is an extension project that promotes the engagement of students, technical and administrative staff and faculty members of Guignard School of Art. It started, initially by students, in 2015, proposing experimentation of curating art and culture practices. Acting in an extension way, it led to the occupation of the entrance hall of Guignard School by the students with curatorial actions through calls for artists and artistic works in thematic notices.

An imprisoned gaze: research and development of interactive interfaces in diverse realitiesThis research project intends to investigate interactive interfaces that develop, in some way, the imprisonment of a gaze. We have developed artistic works in immersive virtual reality. We have also studied augmented, virtual, diminished realities and mixed reality in digital art. This research is exploratory and aims to prepare the team for a larger project about a conceptual work on immersion in diverse realities.

Rodadas LAB | FRONTRodadas Lab | Front are rounds of discussions held every six months on topics of interest to the group. They happen every semester when artists, scientists, technologists are invited to give a lecture. Our guests work in various fields, such as arts, research, science, university, engineering, and also professionals from different sectors of local and national production/creative scene.

Perplexa ExhibitionPerplexa Exhibition (Performance art marathon) have happened since 2009, with two editions each semester, making four annual events. Being at the bounds of disciplines such as "Introduction to Performance" and "Performance" offered in Guignard School of art/UEMG by Professor Marco Paulo Rolla, Perplexa Exhibition aims to create collaborative and creative networks among students, as well to train artists to be aware of all processes involved in the elaboration and execution of performance projects.

Perplexa Exhibition: ArchivesThe objective of this proposal is to keep the exhibition website construction up, to catalog the works developed in its editions and mainly to spread its existence out from UEMG to the society in general.

Artistic ResidencyConections on digital/material, between culture, design and heritage, between technology and people. Using as a start point Candido Portinari's pannel “Civilização Mineira” (1959), that is displayed on Casa Fiat de Cultura, with its colours, lines and inspirations connecting with the urban scene of Belo Horizonte, in an interace between materiality/virtuality. A project thought, from the very beginning, through collaboration. Pablo Gobira, professor of post-grad in Fine Arts on Escola Guignard (UEMG), is a benchmark researcher in digital arts, and was the residency curator, bringing an academic and contemporary art point of view as an inspiration font to amplify and deepen the artistic experiences.

Digital Arts Seminar (SAD)The Digital Arts Seminar (SAD) aims to understand, analyze and document the contemporary Brazilian situation of the use of technologies in the field of digital arts intersecting with the other areas in sciences, communication and public policies in this context. This is done from thematic axes and through the participation of diverse professionals, among them, teachers, researchers, artists, authors, curators and managers of organizations in the country. This way, the contribution to the field of technology, arts and communication studies is by gathering together field professionals into emerging discussions and development.

MULTI|LABMulti|lab is an extension project of Escola Guignard that comes from the group's discussions on the poetics borders. Its main goal is to contemplate audiovisual as a plastic language and explore its possibilities on the fine arts' field. Some of the interests are on the limits between languages, possible fusions thinking, for example, on the movies as one of the elements of video-instalation.

Digital LiteracyThis proposal aims to promote digital literacy, oftentimes known as "digital alphabetising", on basic education. More specifically we will promote a digital literacy movement with teachers (and through them, we aim to reach the students) focusing on the knowledges of the relationship between art and technology, as well as the development of digital art experiences.

Imersive Photography WorkshopThe workshop offered to its participants knowledge and practice on immersive photography with the goal of exploring the panoramic, espherical, and 360º image in a context of museums. The workshop proposed the creation of virtual visits utilising imersive techniques through photographic cameras, 360º cameras and cellphone cameras and tablets' registers. The participants also learned how to create a virtual reality glass.
