The Memory of the Digital and other issues of arts and museology
ABOUT
The book's title leads the reader to memory and not to the reductionism of "bits" lacking poetics. Memory transcends the temporality of our actions. Preserving memory through artefacts, images, smells, gestures, sounds, the things themselves, the digital collection. Preserving the memory of what has been and has never ceased to be within us, means visiting and re-visiting cultures in different temporalities, in which space-time is unique, in the process of creation. Prof. Pablo Gobira invites us to visit and re-visit the texts of illustrious authors, to which he has also contributed. Authors from fields and areas of knowledge that are mirrors of the cultural creation. The invention of a "to come" in arts and technologies; in past museums and the future of post-digital; cube-interface museum and radical museology where the sound of pursuing cultural democratization reverberates in films made of fragments of works that refer the reader to other texts, in which one can understand and reformulate storytelling, exhibitions and their collections on platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, Twiter.
Prof. Pablo Gobira seeks an answer, and at the same time he raises questions about the digital preservation of poetry. In the course of the binomial "visit-reading", a study of the processes of creation in the" trans-aesthetic" era. The book has an academic scope, portrayed in the links of the research carried out and presented to the reader in order to propose reflection on the various forms of digital and post-digital creation, on the preservation of collections, on museum space, on archives, on images and poetry.
The urgency that this book fills is to install the "new" aesthetics of digital devices, to echo the cultural plurality and above all to revisit the processes of creation, in order to preserve the memory and to make memory.
