Preservation and art memory in front of volatility
This study aims to discuss and establish concepts on which we can categorize digital artwork. Thus, we aim to understand whether the digital works can be grouped as stable and which could be considered unstable, demonstrating the difficulties regarding the preservation of digital collections.
Living Room: A curatorial room for access to art and culture in Guignard School of Art
Living Room is an extension project that promotes the engagement of students, technical and administrative staff and faculty members of Guignard School of Art. It started, initially by students, in 2015, proposing experimentation of curating art and culture practices. Acting in an extension way, it led to the occupation of the entrance hall of Guignard School by the students with curatorial actions through calls for artists and artistic works in thematic notices.
Perplexa Exhibition (Performance art marathon) have happened since 2009, with two editions each semester, making four annual events. Being at the bounds of disciplines such as "Introduction to Performance" and "Performance" offered in Guignard School of art/UEMG by Professor Marco Paulo Rolla, Perplexa Exhibition aims to create collaborative and creative networks among students, as well to train artists to be aware of all processes involved in the elaboration and execution of performance projects.
Curatorship seen in relation to digital technology: exhibition design as an arcade
The main objective of this project is to study the space for exhibition design facing the presence of digital technology. As consequence of that, we intend: to discover new ways of thinking about exhibition design in contemporary context; to research the changes in this new configuration of the pace; to think about curatorship and its role in the context of exhibition design in the presence of digital technology; to think about the relationship between art, technology and science; to approach the playful nature of interactive digital installations.
An imprisoned gaze: research and development of interactive interfaces in diverse realities
This research project intends to
Investigate interactive interfaces that develop, in some way, the imprisonment of a gaze. We have developed artistic works in immersive virtual reality. We have also studied augmented, virtual, diminished realities and mixed reality in digital art. This research is exploratory and aims to prepare the team for a larger project about a conceptual work on immersion in diverse realities.
Perplexa Exhibition: Archives
The objective of this proposal is to keep the exhibition website construction up, to catalog the works developed in its editions and mainly to spread its existence out from UEMG to the society in general.
