LOOK AT YOURSELF
Pablo Gobira
"Look at yourself" is an immersive virtual reality art installation. By imprisoning the eyes inside a simulated human head in a three-dimensional environment, the installation aims to investigate the relation between sensoriality and its limits, within the dialogue established by the representation of a human body in transformation and the lack of control over its transformations. The operating system of the installation uses the interactor's movements as input data, and the actions performed in the installation's cyberspace as output data. The sound design was made using a voice synthesis software for the reading and recombination of a poem. This poem was made by one of the artists (Pablo Gobira) and was developed using generative algorithms. For the installation it is necessary that the interactor uses a stereoscopic binocular device providing immersion. |
